Heaven is peanut butter and chocolate cake, yeah.

I made heaven in a cake this weekend, serious. It was my step dad's birthday and I made a BIG FAT chocolate cake with peanut butter icing and it was heaven, job done.

Fearn hearts A Very British Party...

The lovely people at uktv make this program called 'A Very British Party' and apparently Fearn Cotton likes it A LOT. So they asked me to make some cupcakes for Miss Cotton, in honour of the tv love.

They were chocolate and vanilla cups of fun with vanilla icing and edible art from my trusty friends at Eat Your Photo. Oh yeah, and Glitter, obvs.

baking saves lives saves TV

Hello. I didn't really save TV, but I did make some little cakes for Really TV, a uktv channel that makes shows that you would not BELIEVE, that's why it's called Really, get it?

Anyway they were little vanilla cakes with vanilla butter icing, multi coloured sprinkles, handmade red letter's AND NO GLITTER, cakes with no glitter = wrong. They were cute though, even without the glitter and I hear they went down very well, yum diddley um.

BIG CAKES and little cakes for religious purposes

Our friend Siobhan had some twins and then she had a christening and I made lots of cakes. You can't have a christening without cake, you know. So there was a lilac vanilla cake for Lyla Kate and a pink vanilla cake for Aoife Roisin and then lots of little cakes for everyone else. I made all the pretty butterflies and flowers and put LOADS of glitter on EVERYTHING. Of course.

Baby Shower cupcakes, yeah.

My lovely sister in law (to be) is having a baby in two weeks! unless its late, or early...anyway.... We had a baby shower where we did girl stuff like painting our nails, having massages and eating CAKE. I made these vanilla cups of yum with vanilla icing and LOTS of sprinkles and glitter. The lettering is baby blue sugar paste and looks like those fridge magnet letters you get, which i LOVE.

Who loves Jo Brand?

I do.........

So my boyfriend is producing a bunch of podcasts at work and last week the guest was Jo Brand, woah. When he told me about this i knew I had to make a cake (cake is my response to most things) and so i did, and here is the bad boy.

Its a chocolate orange sponge with chocolate butter icing and a hand made sugar heart, yum. They gave Ms Brand the cake in the midst of the podcast whilst she was being all super funny so if you want to hear her reaction then you can download these comedy podcasts for FREE here:

Listen to Episode 3: Jo Brand and some fantasy American load of old bollocks : The Dave Weekly podcast

Or you can get yourself to itunes and download it there, yeah. Do it, cake + comedy = mega happiness.

Abby's 1st birthday. eek.

My lovely little baby niece Abby turned 1 last week. She is such a cutie and deserved an equally cute cake, so here it is, pink and glittery to the MAX. Its a vanilla sponge with vanilla butter icing that baby Abby skillfully shoved all over her face, just like all good babies should. Little pickle.

swedish deliciousness please

My lovely brother gave me the recipe for this Swedish cake, Kladdkaka, which means gooey cake. It is a bit like a chocolate brownie but EVEN MORE chewy and delicious. It's a bit magic too because day by day the texture of the cake changes and get more tasty, woo.

BIG cake

I made this 50s themed cake for lovely Laura's mums 60th birthday. It was a mega 16" x 12" vanilla sponge, filled with yum bags strawberry jam and some tasty vanilla butter icing, woop. I finished the cake with a bit MORE vanilla butter icing.

The photo is of Laura's mum, Jane, when she was a little girl in the 50s, hanging out with the pigeons and is edible, which Laura bought from Eat Your Photo (good name). I made the records and the dancing people with my own little hands out of sugar paste and lots and lots of black food colour.

welcome to baking saves lives

Hello and welcome to baking saves lives, where you are invited to save your life a little bit with some cake. Yum.

Baking saves lives is me, Hannah and I believe that life, whether good or bad can ALWAYS be made better with a little bit of cake.

I love cake, so much, that I went to bakery school to learn how to make magic (cake) where I earned a foundation degree in Baking Technology, woo wee! I then worked at two of London’s top bakeries; Primrose Bakery and the hummingbird bakery. But then I decided I ought to do some independent life saving and so created baking saves lives.

You can get all your classic wonders here, like victoria sponge, carrot cake and lemon meringue tart. Then there’s stuff like chocolate and guinness cake and lime and chocolate tart if you fancy something a little bit different.

So go on, save your life a little bit today, have some cake!!!
